The pageant was very close.Rachel Mykels and Raquel Ross both tied for interview with 65 pts., and Rachel Ross beat Raquel in gown by 1 pt., in swim wear by 2 pts., and in Q&A by 1 pt. and Raquel won Talent by 16 pts.

Miss NY Continental 2009 Jazell Barbie Royale

Jazell Barbie Royale has been appointed to the title of Miss NY Continental 2009. She will compete at the Miss Continental 2010 pageant this September in Chicago.

President Obama Issues Gay Pride Proclamation

US President Obama issued a LGBT Pride Month proclamation to on June 1, 2009. The Proclamation comes on the 40th anniversary of Stonewall:"Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society."

According to Reuters, the Kara DioGuardi penned winner’s song, “No Boundaries” will get it’s first airing on AOL’s Popeater, moments after the winner is announced… The song was co-written with Cathy Dennis and Mitch Allen
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are set to take the Nokia Theater stage tonight to sing 3 songs–Simon Fuller’s choice, Favorite song of the Season and the Coronationv Song. Plus, Carrie Underwood will take the stage to perform the Idol Boot song, “Home Sweet Home”. Kris chose to perform second tonight, after he won a coin toss after last week’s results show. Adam will perform first.
Wednesday night is the big finale, with a host of celebrities set to perform. The Top 13 will be reunited to perform once more, individually and in groups. At night’s end, the Season 8 American Idol will be crowned.
Adam Lambert is set to sing “Mad World” as his personal choice tonight. Reports are that he’ll be performing it with “a twist”

Finale performers confirmed: Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, David Cook, and Keith Urban Finale Duets: Kris Allen will duet with Keith Urban. Allison Iraheta will duet with Cyndi Lauper. Danny Gokey will duet with Lionel Richie.
